Minh- Do you have other wrasses that may have caused your 8 line flasher to go to terminal male? Do you still have your blue throat fairy wrasse? I'm just wondering if the presence of other similar wrasses may cause a flasher or fairy wrasse to turn to a terminal male. It's less expensive to buy females if you know they will eventually turn into a terminal male.

I don't know why my Eightline change to terminal male. I think they all will develop to terminal male, per experiences of advance wrasse keepers. There are multiple Terminal male in my 320 DT, but I recently lost the blue throat. One day he just not there anymore. I think somehow he got eaten by one of the carpets.
Wrasses won't live past 5-7 years. It is nice to get female or Juvenile and watch them turn to male. I just got another juvenile Eightline. Right now I am still undecided if I should leave him in separate tank or put her into the main DT with the wrasses (and the male Eight-line)

5-7 years is much better luck than I have had. For fairy's my max is 5 and 3-4 have been more typical.
Congrats!

Wrasses are not long live fish for sure, especially Flasher and Fairy wrasses. I wonder the wisdom of spending thousands of dollars for them. I guess some people just have money to buy fish like that. My sisters already think that I am crazy to buy a 1.5 inch pinkish bland fish for 120 dollars.
