Plumbing question

Setting up a 40 gallon fuge and it will gravity drain to my sump. Is there any reason i couldn't have it drain into the last chamber of my sump and also pump the water to the fuge from the same section? Will this cause a fluctuating water level in the last chamber where my ATO is located?

My original plan was to have the water drain to last section and have the pump in my skimmer chamber but I realized that will cause the level to fluctuate in the last chamber

TY

Long overdue update

I can officially call my self a reefer now. :fun4: Tank has been running for about a year now and I've had corals in for about 6 months or so. Parameters are pretty stable and in the sweet spot as far as calcium, magnesium and alkalinity go. Nitrate and phosphates are undetectable. Very low nutrient system as my filtration water volume is greater then my display volume and my fish load is pretty low also. I haven't been getting very good growth from my lps and zoas and I believe the low nutrients to be the cause as the sps are doing pretty well. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated.

I will also be retro fitting my t5s with a kessil ap700 in March when I get some time to tackle that project. Now on to the pictures please excuse the terrible photography skills and the iPhone pictures lol.

First picture is the sps side. None of the sps are in any sort of final scape just growing them out for now. And if you look close enough on the overflow you can see the very first spots of coralline algae starting to grow. I was so excited when I got home from work and noticed those little purple spots today

Love this tank, I just picked mine up from my LFS, am upgrading from a 36"x24"x18", wanted the extra foot. Is that a VorTech MP10? I was going to pull the trigger on one, but then someone advised I get a MP40, but I'm hesitating because this is such a shallow tank.

I'm using both an MP10 and an MP40 on mine with no issue(LPS dominate) The MP10 runs close to full blast and the MP40 I'd say runs up to about 75%. Have been considering going with 2 MP40 and ditching the MP10, not convinced just yet but thinking about it as I'm in the process of gearing up towards more SPS.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm having my steel stand guy over tomorrow night to talk dimensions, so I'm a few months before making the switch. My 60 gallon is LPS dominant also, I think I'll start with one MP40 and if I need more flow, look into adding a MP10. I'm switching to a 4 foot tank because I want more fish, and 3 feet just doesn't do it. Thanks again.......

Im running a mp40 and a rw8 on this tank. Anywhere between 50-75%
