Hi, I was once on reef central back in 2004 - 2015 or so and just re joined today. I have an 80 gallon reef but upgrading to a FC 108. Stand is completed, tank out in the car port!
Thank you!Woohoo! Welcome back. Stand looks good!
Also if you remember your old username @JohnL may be able to merge the accounts for you

Very nice, you must be excited! The tank waiting for some stong guys... March 11 is the scheduled evening to move this in!
This should be interesting. I wasn't very long ago that I converted to LED lighting from Metal Halide. I still have 2 MH pendants, 4 electronic ballasts and a bunch of bulbs in case I ever decide to switch back lol.Absolutely! Thanks! I'll be using some unconventional equipment on this setup according to modern standards..more to come..
Nice. The rock work, etc looks a lot like my first reef tank that I set up in 1990.That's good stuff! My current tank has all the modern equipment, this one i want to take back to 2004 nostalgia when I first got into reef ( in some ways). Like this old tank of mine lolView attachment 32417108
Yep, the rock wall lol with pukani live rock ( some i still have)Nice. The rock work, etc looks a lot like my first reef tank that I set up in 1990.
Yep, here's my first (30 gallon) reef tank in 1990. And, after we moved into our first apartment, my upgrade to a 58 in 1994.Yep, the rock wall lol with pukani live rock ( some i still have)
The rock in that 30 (first pic) was California live rock lol. The LFS (long out of business) had a source in California that collected it. Back then, there really weren't any restrictions on collecting live rock from US waters. It had no openings, just solid boulders, covered with coralline and a barnacle here and there. That's really awesome!
Agree. We do still have access to some pretty nice live rock though. Tampa Bay Saltwater, KP Aquatics and Gulf Live Rock all aquaculture rock down in Florida. I've gotten rock from KP twice now and been very happy with it both times.Yeah, I wish live rock was still as big as thing, from all-over the world like back then
Our pleasure.Absolutely! Thanks! I'll be using some unconventional equipment on this setup according to modern standards..more to come..
