85 gallon tank stock

For those of you who've read my posts about setting up a 180 FOWLR, I'm doing a major downgrade to an 85 :). After plugging in all figures a 180 is just too expensive right now.
What fish do you recommend that I get for the tank? Right now I've got no real set plans stocklist wise. My two departures are 1. Building a tank around a picasso trigger like I was doing before or 2. Going the less aggressive route with the singapore angel being the fish to base other livestock around (maybe a butterfly species and some smaller schooling fish?). Thanks a lot!

Another option is combining the picasso, singapore, and a harlequin tusk-assuming those would do alright in an 85 gallon-with whatever else anybody suggests

Ok one last post before I start letting other people answer. This may simplify things. What can I keep from my old intended stocklist in an 85 gallon tank?
Picasso trigger
Kole tang
Hippo tang
Harlequin tuskfish
Singapore angel
One spot foxface

With what remains, what are some fish that I can add?

what are the dimensions of the tank? if it's a 4 foot long tank, I think you could keep any three of the fish on your list, except the hippo tang.

The dimensions are 48X18X22

So three of the fish. Could I fit anything else in the tank other than just three fish? Any suggestions?

Gauging bioload is going to depend on what sixe sump you've got, what size refugium, what kind of skimmer and how much rock and sand you've got.

I agree with DAN513, filtration capacity, total gallons, rock/sand and maintenance regime all matter... a lot.

All other things being equal, you can keep more fish if you limit yourself to smaller fish, like dwarf angels, dwarf lions, clownfish, smaller hawks, etc.

Your list includes quite a few fish that reach an adult size of around 8-12 inches. Limit yourself to fish that stay under 5 or 6 inches as adults, and you have the possibility of keeping more fish.
