9 days with no light!

I'm about to go on vacation...my dillema is i don't have anyone to watch over my aquarium. I don't have any corals yet, but i do have chaeto in the back of my nano dx, and i do have live rock (with coraline growth). Do you guys think 9 days of no lighting will kill off any of the coraline, or kill the chaeto? (Water evaporation isn't too much of an issue.)

I agree with the comment about the timers.

That said, purple coralline grows best in the tanks I have in a brightly lit room with no lights turned on. So much so, that I have a tuxedo urchin to cut down on the amount of coralline.

For the chaeto to survive, you would have to have it in the brightest part of the tank.

If you are worried about the lights, just set the timer for a couple of hours a day.

Best of luck,

Roy

I agree, just get some timers from HD. But as to your question...my tank (packed with corals) had no light for that long, everything was fine...just kept the light a bit higher up once it was back on.
