For a 1" drain line a Mag 9.5 should be a little too much, needing a ball valve to slow it down.
It really depends on your return plumbing, for a 1" drain your only going to get about 600 gph of water down. So you need to take in account your head loss for the return pump. If just a 1" straight pipe short run back up, Mag 7 or 9.5 is plenty. If you have a long run with several 90's, 45's ball valves and such you'll need to go bigger.
