9002 DOC Nano Bubbles

I have been happily running my 9002 DOC Nano on my biocube 29 for about two and a half months now and couldn't be happier.

Lately though, I have been getting a larger than usual amount of micro bubbles coming into the display. Nothing has changed in the tank as far as dosing chemicals or anything like that so I'm just wondering if it isn't something that I should tweak with the skimmer. I use an ATO to keep the water level at the right level on the side of the skimmer so I'm not thinking this is the issue.

Any thoughts on what may be causing this? Should I take out the pump and give it a good cleaning or check the air line?

Any suggestions would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

You could try cleaning it but I would first check two things.

If the bubbles increase as the day progresses it is an oxygen saturation issue, removing algae and thinning fast growing soft corals as well as changing the bulbs if they are old and may have shifted in spectrum and or reducing the photoperiod by an hour or two may fix this.

If the bubbles are constant check that the KH has not increased, if it is above 14 degrees a small water change should help.

Otherwise cleaning it will likely solve the problem.
