9002 nano not working properly

Can someone help please. I cant get my skimmer to function correctly after trying for 24 hours. Cant get the fine bubbles to rise above the base of the cup. blue valve doesnt seem to affect the operation even though the tubing is connected. water level is approx 1/2 inch below line on skimmer

Are you sure there is something to be skimmed out? This is an established tank?

the tank is established, even if there is nothing to skim shouldnt there still be bubbles rising in the column? Also, I had some chaeto clogged in the pump so there was some cloudiness when I cleaned it out. Could that have something to do with it? Thanks Roger

The bubbles only rise when there is something to skim, the bubbles just pop at the surface unless they have picked up something, they then rise like whipped cream or frothed milk, the waste is what holds the bubbles together. The skimmer is basically whipping or frothing the proteins out of the water. Suspended sediments will also interfere with skimming. If it is making bubbles and positioned correctly, it will work, it just needs time. I would leave it alone and wait for the tank to mature.
