9004 in the RSR 250 sump?

I have a RSR 250 in the mail and on the way. I think the 9004 is a good fit or my needs, but I'm reading various accounts of the skimmer being too tall to work appropriately in the sump of the RSR 250. Since I don't have the sump to measure, yet, I'm wondering if you know compatibility.

I do not know for sure, if the RSR is the same as the RSM, per this link it should work. Steve Taggart at In Tank is probably the most knowledgeable on what fits in what.

The Red Sea literature says 8" water level for sump in RSR 250. All the Tunze literature says 9" is about minimal level?

Yes, that is correct, it won't work without 8.9" minimum water level, if there is no way to raise it, that would rule out the 9004.
