9005 Noise

Installed my new Tunze 9005 Skimmer yesterday. When I plugged it in, I got lots of noise. Not bubble or air noise. Nasty vibration noise. It's not coming from the mounting brackets... if I hold the skimmer in a bucket of water it makes the same noise. The skimmer is mounted properly. It is level and the water level is correct. The FAQ's in the instructions suggested checking the impeller for wear, but the skimmer is new. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Check the impeller, often the bush bearing slips in shipping and needs to be pressed back in. Also be sure to start the skimmer with the venturi closed, this helps the pump start without taking in air which is the other big source of noise in a new pump.
