9010 Performance

I have a 9010 that I am using in the sump. Generally, it works quite well; however, I have noticed that the amount of skimmate collected steadily decreases over time. The strange thing is that if I take apart and clean the skimmer and pump, it will again produce much more skimmate. It seems that it needs to be cleaned in such a manner about every three to four weeks. Is this normal for this skimmer?

I clean mine every 4 months or so. I clean the collection cup every couple days.

What is your tank size, bioload and is this in sump or in tank?

I clean the cup daily! It is in the sump. The tank is 142 gallons, with 11 fish: 2 ocellaris clowns, a flame angel, a pakistani butterfly, a bicolor blenny, 5 pajama cardinals, and a maculosus angel. They are (over)fed three times a day.

I noticed mine failing every few weeks a couple months ago and it was due to the bottom plate not being in correctly. Maybe try reseating it and see if that helps.

Other than that... I got nothing. :/
