9010 stopped working

Yesterday i disassembled the 9010 again and to be honest, i didn't see anything wrong with the bearing bush. There's no way i can push it in any further. Anyhow, i followed the instruction in the manual to take everything apart and clean thouroughly. Put them together and it works fine after that. I tried to switch it off and on many times and it still start up fine. The hydrofoamer assembly has been discussed and illustrated very well in the manual from page 105. I don't know why i could miss that part.

Thank you Roger

I have to think it was the bush bearing, this part is like the brake drum on a car and if it is a bit crooked the brakes drag and catch. Keep me posted, if it happens again let me know and we can send a new drive unit.

I hate to bring this up from the dead but....

I never got around to sending my pump back, you would never imagine how much a baby changes your amount of free time (or you just might). I was just going to bite the bullet and buy one, and then I went shopping, $160. Well I was curious, how difficult is it to get a Waranty replacement (if I remember right, the 9010 does have a 1 year waranty)

I have been using my old skimmer but It doesn't make any sense for me to have a practically brand new $350 skimmer sitting unused any longer. I will also need to buy a new bottom plate/suction cups, as it does not seem to be in the box where I placed the skimmer????

Thanks,

Nick

It actually has a 2 year warranty, send it to me, if we can't fix it we will replace it.

They are both the same, tunze web site orders come direct to me, if you want you could include a note in the box with the parts you need and a Visa or MC number or a phone number to call.

Great Service!!!

I sent off my pump via priority mail on the 19th, and I have my pump and spare parts I needed already, that includes a weekend where I bet the parts did not move at all.

Thanks

Nick

Roger, this pump died I think. I emptied my cup Thursday and noticed the skimmate was low but did not think much of it. Well, I was doing a "late night making sure everything is ok since I haven't seen my tank in 18 hours sort of check" and noticed there was no skimmate at all!!! So I took the skimmer apart and checked the pump and it is not spinning the impellar at all. The impeller looks fine, still looks brand new. Any suggestions or do you think I need another new pump? I was getting giddy with all the consistant skimmate all this time.....

That is very odd, we had some problems with pumps early last year but since then we have solved the problem and they should be reliable. My guess is that the impeller assembly may be damaged and the pump overheated and turned off. I would try it again now that it has cooled. If it at least hums or makes some effort I would be fairly sure the impeller assembly is the culprit.

It is not making any noise when it is plugged in and physically the impeller assembly looks fine. There is some magnetic resistance, but it is not turning at all.

Nick,

Send it to me, I will get this figured out and replaced if necessary.
