currently have two small clowns and a flame tail blenny that I will be moving from a biocube into this tank but I woul also like to add one or two tangs preferably some of the smaller ones any idea what species of tangs would go best. I plan on having 7-8 fish total in this system. I have a very strong skimmer and am adding a hob refugium shortly.

Final stocking plan
1-2 tangs
2clowns
1 blenny
1 goby
1 wrasse
1 dwarf angel
I might substitute the wrasse or angel for a flame hawk fish

I really like the kole yellow eye tang. Or, if you want a real showstopper, the white tail bristle tooth tang.

Unfortunately, you probably can only have one tang in that size system. I also have a 90g and have had to come to grips with the fact that I'd need a bigger system to have more than one. I've never heard of anyone doing pairs. Do tangs pair? That would probably be the only way you could keep two without aggression.

Purple, yellow, kole eye, tomini would be good choices.

A juvi Chevron (beautiful coloration) would last years and years in a 100g. My buddy has had one for 3+ years in his tank, growing incredibly slowly.

is it growing slow cause of small tank, stunting his growth which can cause organ problems for fish..just saying. I wouldn't recommend no Purple neither.

No, it's a huge tank, I think it's a 220g. Purples and Chevrons grow slowly. Blues and nasos are another story.

Just my two cents, if I could only have one tang, I'd get a purple.

The size recommendations aren't only about the size of the fish, but also aggression. Purple tangs, for example, are very aggressive and will terrorize most other fish if its territory is too small. Chevrons probably also, since they're not very big but require a larger tank. Now, don't get me wrong, if I had a 220g, I'd gladly have these fish. But I have a 90g, so I don't.

I also kept two in my 90g - a purple and a blue (I know, I know) - they never even looked at each other. Not even a hint of a problem.
