Time to shut down my fowlr office tank.
Looking for a trade on either an MP10 ES or Vortech Battery Backup. Prefer a trade of the fore mentioned or if for sale, then $150.
Included is just the 90g "old school" RR tank, converted wet/dry sump, oak stand, canopy with four 54w T5 retros.
This tank was built by World Class Aquarium in Brooklyn. Tank's back pane is painted black has a center glass brace and also euro-bracing that can accomodate glass lids if desired. Tank has been with me since '87 so it is built like a tank
Tank does have scratches and stand and canopy should be sprayed to match finishes. Stand also has multiple holes drilled on the left side for when I had different external skimmers plumbed.
What I mean't by "old school" RR is that back in the day, RR was rather new and store bought tanks other then Clarity Plus did not have reef ready tanks. So WCA built the tank with a small corner overflow that consisted of a drip plate over bio-balls and the return is an acrylic bent tube drilled from the bottom on the other end of the tank utilizing a true union check valve that has not failed in 25 years
You can probably rig a 1" durso within the overflow and replace the acrylic return tube with some 1/2" black PVC to modernize the tank a bit or even just cap the return side and utilize a Sea Swirl or similiar as a return.
The stand was also made by WCA to my specs with oak and a bit taller then stock.
I have a large external recirculating skimmer FS for $200.
I bought this 3rd hand about 8 months ago because my old ER CS-8 died on me at work.
The skimmer is branded SWC but is exactly like the one pictured below which is a Reef Octopus DDNW 250.

There are some repairs to this skimmer which is asthetic at this point. One of the union inlets was partially sheared where it connects to the skimmer body. I noticed this when I tested the skimmer after I picked it up, it was drip leaking. I purposely sheared off the remainder and reconnected it with JB Weld and the union still functions properly and is a tight bond. The collection cup seemed to have been dropped previously and glued back together with weldon and looks crappy but does not leak at all. (I've had it running for about 3.5 months now) All the various other o-rings are good and water tight, I vinegar cleaned this skimmer along with both OTP pumps when I picked it up and lubricated all the orings. (It is rinsed since I took it offline 5 days ago but not vinegar cleaned this time around)
Besides purchasing the skimmer, I also had CoralVue send me a replacement ball valve and metric piping since the valve was drip leaking and those pieces cost me $100 from CoralVue. (metric fittings are a PIA to find, hence the rip-off from CoralVue)
The skimmer is a beast, it will actually heat up your water volume if you place it in a system that is too small and also not skim well. It is loud with the dual OTP pumps so I would only suggest this if you are placing it in a fish room.
