i have seen various setups of larger tanks where people have put supports under the floor due to the weight of their tank. i am not too familiar with carpentry so i dont know. i have 50 some odd sps frags and must upgrade, im going with the elos 90g. my apartment is new so i cant imagine it would pose any problems. any thoughts or input would be much appreciated!

I dought it will be a problem but if its going to worry you then put it against a load bearing wall were there is more support also i know a lot of people with tank that size and up that didnt re-enforce their floors and have been fine. I have a 65g in an upstairs apartment with a 20g sump and usually three full 7g jugs sitting next to it hope this helps.

Had the same problem with my apartment (90 Gallon). Just make sure the tank is running across the floor joist and against a load supporting wall and you shouldn't have any trouble.

If you have concrete floors the floor can support 300 pounds/square foot, wood = 40 pounds per square foot. But keep in mind that is across the entire room, and you not putting the fish tank in the middle of the floor. Just contact your building manager and make sure its ok, mine just wanted renters insurance on the tank for any possible damage.

Good Luck and hope this helped,
Mike
