A Bengai and a Pair of Clowns

In a month or so I will be setting up a 40gal reef tank and I plan on only having 3 fish (1 bengai cardinal, 2 clowns- w rose anemone) with an abundance of corals. The Bengai I currently have is dear to me and my wife and we want to integrate him into our new aquarium so he can live peacefully with 2 clowns.

What 's the best way to introduce the Begai to the clowns or vice versa? Do i start with really small juvenile clowns? Any ideas/advice/experience will be much appreciated

I have a Bengai Cardinal who was first occupant in the aquarium and then I introduced a pair of clowns one large and one small . I found the Bengai seemed lonley in the tank at first until the 2 clowns arrived . As the bengai had been kept in the LFS with about six of his mates in the one tank. I have been told Bengai's usually school in the wild and this is why he seemed depressed once on his own. They all get on gret now and established there own teritory in the tank. Good Luck....!

That will be no problem for them to co-existed, you can put the BC after the clowns are good and settled or all at once.

I would be a bit carefull about putting all three in at once in a 40 gallon system dont wanna crash your tank first time round. Slowly - slowly one at a time especially on a new set up. See how it handles the bio load from the fish

I kept a gold stripe maroon pair and a bangaii together for nearly 4 years. They were all bought on the same day, and all small. The clowns eventually became a breeding pair, and I raised 2 batches of their babies. The mother clown would rush at the bangaii every now and then, but never actually hurt him. The bangaii on the other hand, had a nocturnal feast of clown larvae every two weeks for about 2 years, which was supplemented with cleaner shrimp larvae as well. He was quite a fatty.
