A big change in my Duncans(ok?)

A little info: all parameters are in check in a 160g tank that's been up and running a year. MH lighting, the tank is very lightly stocked.
I got this frag about 6 weeks ago it's been doing great. At the end of the first week in my tank the purple duncans had a rich purple color that did not exist when I bought them. But now, the color is still the same rich purple but they have stretched and extended so much it's barely noticeable. They are still growing as you can see in the photo. One lower head was split down the middle when it was fragged that has completely healed to a full head. Is this normal? Are they ok? I have been target feeding them once a week. Their mouths aren't open or gaping.

Mine are the same way. My guess from having Duncans for 6 months or so is that when fully extended they are almost more translucent. Mine only get deeper purple tentacles when the coral retracts during night. Or even during day if it is retracted in daylight. But to usually the case for my coral

That's normal. Its just tentacle extension, from what I hear they can get really long with high flow. You might also notice slight color changes with different lighting

Watch when they really grow - they'll expand their heads to the size of silver dollars in ideal conditions: good flow/lighting/feedig.

Yeah seems pretty normal to me. The larger mine swell the more translucent they become.

I know off topic. Sorry but I have to ask. How did you make that frag rock stick to glass? Is it live rock or did you make it?

The are held on by sure grip magnets. There are 2 built into the ceramic frag rock and 2 on the outside of the glass on the one. The other there are 2 in the overflow. Th ones that I have are made by Alternative Reef. I purchased them through Aquarium Specialty. They were expensive, but well worth the cost in my opinion.
