A bit off level- how much "real" danger?

I am not exactly new in the hobby but am posting this in this forum thinking I may get more unbiased answers. I am trying to avoid the henny penny syndrome "the sky is falling, the sky is falling" because personally I'm not sure it really is. When I originally set up my 225 gallon tank, I checked it for being level. Everything checked out just fine. Even after I filled it, I determined there was still no problem. Since that time, due to settling or whatever I can't figure out, it is now approximately 1/8 inch off level. Perhaps just a bit over an eighth. I understand that this causes undue pressure on one end. Emptying this sucker and re balancing is out of the question. I would like to find out what other hobbyist think the real danger of a catastrophe is. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Don

what you dont want to hear....fix it. theres your henny penny answer.

lol sorry i had too.

Anyway i would say if the tank is still fully supported and just slightly tilted it should be ok....My 46gallon is perfectly supported on the stand but yet it is slightly unbalanced(i blame it on the rug). I have no problems with it nor have i ever. Now if the edge of your tank is not supported then you would be looking a problem and it is only a matter of time before pressure gives in.

1/8th" over a 6' length won't hurt anything. Maybe not the best set, but good enough, I believe. I wouldn't loose sleep over it. I don't think there are many tanks that are perfectly level. Some settling will naturally occur.

Thanks for the replies. Somehow I was expecting someone to say disaster was near and it should be fixed immediately.:eek2: Anyway, I can't see any immediate dangers. I think I just need to keep an eye on it over time and watch for tell-tell leaks. Then it would be urgent.:D Anymore views on this subject out there??
Thanks
Don

Hummmm, I never thought to check to see if mine was level. I just gave it the ole eyeball!! Now I gotta go check, dang it!

mine is not level and I've never given it a second thought. We'd all be in trouble if tanks were made with such strict tolerances that the added pressure of out of level would cause a problem. Also, if you have corner overflows, the water would be at the correct level anyway. If not, I still wouldn't worry a bit.
