i have a gorgonian with two healthy orange sponges. in the last couple of days i have noticed two small areas on the mud that the gorgonian is attached where two black spots have appeared. they are not on the healthy sponges. i know that when sponges start to turn black they are dying but are there black sponges that i might be growing? thanks!
