Hey gasman, where did you pick up that 2nd piece? I brought home a frag from coral reef farm last weekend that looks just like that colony...

1st looks more like jacquelineae if you look at Veron's.
Hey Johnny I had my doubts too -but spoke to and got verified ID prior to getting the colony(It sure looks like jac)-btw light yellow the pic is not the best.

Hey Jeff she's purple and bout 6 inches wide, bout a month ago a got a gemmifera from CRF and she bleached on me in two days(RTN) I wanted to try again but decided to order online-so far so good .
Its difficult to keep some of this deep blue and purple wild colonies IMO.:smokin:

I would not really on any one person to ID a coral for you. My personal opinion is that it is not caroliniana, but it's possible. You may want to look into it a little more. Check this link:

Yes I'm familiar with the link -TYVM
A.caroliniana colony with some of the pink componet seen in the site.(looks like mine) (underneath pink is evident.
Can be easily confused with jaq. but the jaqueliniana I've seen in the past like this colony has some blue hue in its tips.

Manny corals at that size are vey hard to ID cause they may change shape as they grow but if I was to give a guess i would say it loks like it could be A. Tenuis. I say this only because of the blunt tips
