Oh btw, since you want to teach me a lesson, i went a did some quick researching of what is the host, clown or coral? And a lot said the clown is the host. Thats shy i said it.

Really? Please show me where. Keep in mind that a lot of people use that term wrongly, which is why you used it wrongly. And what Saltydoug also said, many misuse the term.

Just because a lot of people say it that way does not make it correct.

When you go to a friend's place, do you host or is your friend the host?

On another note, the ignore function is one of the best things this site has to offer. The only reason I saw vhuang's post was because it was quoted, really spruces up the place to hide people who need to troll and be condescending to feel better about themselves :)

As long as your hammer is big and healthy you should be good if they start hosting it (honestly no one really cares how you say it). Clownfish get stung by hammers at first so they'll go in it slowly, usually the hammer has time to adjust especially if you've been feeding it small amounts of food 1-2x a week.

The only time I've seen one have issues is when it's not much bigger than the clownfish, by the time yours host (really, no one cares) it'll be a good size.

That said like mark9 posted they'll live wherever they feel like. I've had clownfish host (meh) mushrooms and even bryopsis. They're weird.

Personally I use 1-2 Fauna Marin LPS pellets per head 2x a week and they stay pretty big and fluffy. They're a little pricey but last a long time, just don't do more than 1-2 pellets per head or they'll spit them all out.
 
My clowns refused my LPS corals. Hammers, frogspawns, candy canes, torches, etc. I then tried RBTA's. Refused those for almost a year. I did some research and purchased one of their natural hosts (H. Magnifica) and they were doing back flips into it in days.

Thats not an option for me, can i feed them frozen cubes of brian shrimp(ofc stirred with some tank water)

Brine shrimp don't have much nutritive value and the water in those frozen cubes is packed with phosphates... Can you get any pellet food, or mysis shrimp? Even very small pieces cut from supermarket shrimp will work.

I dont have access to those products unfortunetly... Im like one of the few reefers here, plus im only 16. And there are like only 3 saltwater fish shops here and they all suck😂..

But if i get the normal sized shrimp and cut it into pieces and feed it to my hammer will that be okay?

Those shops or any Petco / PetSmart should have Spectrum pellets, the larger ones are work for corals and it's what I feed my nems. Shrimp is ok but it's really easy to over do it. I've always gotten crazy algae blooms trying to use those but people get pretty good results. I'd squeeze all the water out of it before feeding if you're going that route, pieces should be pretty tiny.

Is there a reef club in your area?

Wasn't me that derailed the thread.

Keep throwing stones from your glass house organism. If you can't take criticism then quit insulting others. I know you won't get to read this since I'm on you're ignore list but very adult of you to insult others then hide from it.

But I agree that this is beating a dead horse. If you don't want to learn how to be successful in this hobby without over relying on others then more power to you. Hope this hobby treats you kindly.

you know i wouldnt really worry too much about feeding your hammer ,i mean with good lighting and good water parameters..i had both hammers and frog spawns and never feed em.......it will do just fine...just saying...maybe just realax and let it be as long as its healthy you be good...clowns will do what it wants anyways......cant really force them to...let it happen naturally....jmi

Agreed, it helps prepare them for a clown onslaught though. After they're hosting it you won't need to feed the coral anymore since clowns will bring it food :)

Seems like experiences are 50/50 on store bought shrimp

Honestly I'd go with gary's advice and just not feed if you can't find pellets or some kind of coral food, should work since it'll be a while for them to live in it if ever... My advice isn't much good without reliable safe coral food tbh
