As you can tell, she didn't like the flash either!

Did you take any pictures of the jelly fish?

Those are the best pictures of Monterey's octopus in her cave that I have seen. Light helps, huh?

I have met her "behind the scenes" and she is very large and so cool. She will stick her arms out of the tank and feel-around with the tentacles to see what she can find. Like all octopus she is a real escape artist so her cave-tank is sealed tight. She is a real favorite of the staff so she has lots of attention.

LOVED seeing your pictures.

Sorry but I can't agree with that sort of thing. The no-flash rules in many areas of the aquarium are their to protect the animals. Blatantly disregarding that to "get the shot" is disgusting and callous. What's even more disturbing is when it's done and condoned by hobbyists who are supposed to be stewards for these creations.
