A few notes on the forum name change and happenings lately

We at RC have had this forum (the old MTRC forum) reopened under a new name with the intent of serving reefers in the Nashville and surrounding communities and saving info that has been saved here for many years. This is not to antagonize or intimidate the current BOD of MTRC that felt it neccessary to move the official MTRC forum to R2R. It is evident that the current BOD seems to be somewhat intimidated by opinions that don't jive with their own. This forum is for anyone in the Middle TN area that have questions about reefing or other subjects that relate to reefing and the current reefing community in Middle TN. Unfortunately most reefing communities get splintered and I have seen this happening with the community here for the last several years. The "good old days" are gone and for some reason people think that positions of importance in reef clubs somehow justify themselves to make decisions that are not in the best interest of the reefing community as a whole. I would just like to emphasize that we are in this together and that the common good of the reefing community should be regarded as more important than personal agendas. This note IS NOT an attack on any personal individual but just my viewpoint on the happenings of the Middle TN reefing community over the last few years. I sincerely hope that we can all put our differences behind us and come together as a triving community once again. This is a HOBBY and those who take this more seriosly than that need to take a step back and use some inner reflecton... it would do us all some good.

Because the MTRC BOD (mostly Bill I think) posted on the MTRC site some very inflamatory remarks aimed at RC and the Mods here removed the forum (which was justified). I got the forum reopened for the well being of the reefing community here.

FWIW I have now had my MTRC membership revoked (the club I helped found and worked on for many years) for getting this forum reopened.

I dont see that at all. I see this being here as a way to preserve information that many innoscent folks helped author. as a 6 year member of the club, i was sad to see it lost. Some reactions to this entire thing have been a bit extreme. I hate to see this type of divide in this group and only know that some of the recent actions seem to drive the spike further.

now, if you need me, ill be in my garage, re-working my plumbing or something important like that.

What? I'm guessing from your english your implying that I tried to pull MTRC apart which has never been my intention. There is one person in particular that has been trying to splinter the group. I don't really care whether I can get a forum reopened or not other than I helped form the club and start the forum and one individual suddenly getting the forum closed is not in the best interest of anybody

You might also note that your opinion and post will be left here for all to see. That is not being done elsewhere

Exactly! And I am pretty much done with the club as it exists now. Everything was fine and then someone gets into a dispute with someone and gets banned and just decides that the whole club is done with RC. Now everytime it comes up on the other forum the thread gets closed. I thought they weren't going to do that?

The LAST thing I'm trying to do is pull MTRC apart (the whole point in getting the forum going here was to try and pull the reefing community here back together). I have a vested interest in MTRC doing well (which may be too late at this point) but unfortunately other people's pride has gotten in the way. If you think I have a power trip you don't know me at all and haven't talked to anyone that knows me well so all I can say is you are sadly mistaken my friend.

I am glad to see the forum back open I like this thread. I like R2r as well but this place is comfortable to me. So I am glad it's back open. Hate to see all the fighting and stuff and have been trying to stay clear of it all.
