A few questions before buying

I am looking to pick up a clam today at my LFS and before I go I had a few questions that I couldn't find a answer to on the forum...

Would a simple drip acclimation be ok for a clam and then adjusting them to the new light in my tank?

I only have T5's (2x39w 460nm antic and 2x39w 10k slimpaq HO) but the tank is only 17" deep...from what I have read that should be ok...can somone reinforce this and mabey suggest what kind of clam would be best...It is only a 38gallon tank with a 20g sump/fuge...

i drip all my clams, usually a just a couple of hours to match the water params.

here's a link to a good thread about lighting. they also talk about sizes a little further down the page. i personally can't speak for t5's

with only 78w of 10k light, maybe one of the lower light clams.
