Well after bagging the carbon and fragging some donations, I went to bed at 1:30am Sat morning. I awoke after a power nap at 5:15am, to report to NERAC III by 6:30. On the way there, no more than 5 miles from my house I was inches from getting hit head on while stationary by a totally sloshed drunk driving sob.
After setting up what is turning out to be the largest raffle table since NERAC's inception. There are well over 90 prizes ranging from gift certificates to nano cubes, heaters to calcium reactors. Raffle tickets range from $1, $2 and $5 chances.
All the vendors, have excellent setups and products to sell. Reef Exotics has tons of equipment. Marco's rock is truely amazing this year, with some awesome tabletop like rock along with round and porous rock. Other vendors had live food, vortecs, lighting, magazines and fragging equipment.
LIRA has some amazing corals for sale. Colonies for $60. The colors were amazing and sizes of baseballs/softballs. Chuck and I were the 1st to grab ours. LIRA also had frags mounted on rock/plugs priced at $15 and $40 depending on the type. These are not your typical corals that you see everyday.
The speakers were excellent and the photography lecture was very informative.
This was the 1st time I attended the dinner and for the price of $50, it was a bargain. Free soda/beer, appetizers that even caterers don't even offer to a tasty buffet style dinner. Behind the scenes was opened up for all to see. The AETech company raffled off the ETSS skimmer adn the winner was a recently new member. 50/50 chance rewared another guest. Conversation was enjoyable and met a nice group of people. This was the best deal of the conference.
Sunday is going to be awesome. This would be the last chance at the super raffles. People are going to scoop up the corals (of which new stock is going to be added). Carbon is selling well. The frag workshop is being highly anticipated by all.
I am beat after going for 19 hours plus moving the clocks ahead 1 hour.
