I have just read that 3 were caught and sent to a wholesaler in Taiwan!! Two of them are already sold with one going to Japan and the other going to US. Anyone got any more info on this? were these legal?

This is one of my absolute favorite fish and trying to get as much info as possible.

a couple of photos I found of the fish!

I am not sure about the selling price would be like, but it will be very very expensive. Even more expensive than G. personatus.

Ok so this fish is 18-20 cms and is the same fish as per below video on one of the blogs

The fish has been eating pellets and doing well for the past 4 months.

Wow! That is an incredible fish. The pics at the top didn't do it justice. Can you get your hands on one?

What is the price of it? I'm assuming over 5k?

The price is way over 5k!!! Unfortunately that means way out of my budget. I also do not have the right setup to keep this fish... for the time being!

As ridiculous as this might sound, if a fish makes you happy in the way this one does for you, I say save up and get it. Most people would look at me odd to think 5k or 10k for a fish. But I feel that you shouldn't settle.

I see a lot of people stock with fish they bought on a whim. I only put the very fish that I absolutely go nuts for in my tank. Right now I have a Majestic Angel, Gold Stripe Maroon and a Royal Gramma.

My tank is big enough to have other fish, but why? These are the fish that I enjoy watching.

If it's your favorite Lebreef, start planning, and give it a shot. Your tank would be very special and I know I would like to see pics and videos.

+1 curious well put I only have 4 fish in my 55g I Go to fish fish store at least once a week too. Never buy on a whim.

Ultra rare masudai, super rare P. guyanensis, and I am sure the anthias are also very very rare, but did you guys spot the kingi in the tank??

I do not know what happened, but this tank is a holding tank at Blue Harbor in Japan, I assume. I do not know what the reason is, but I hope they put it back...

I thought it was illegal to export tropical fish out of South Africa?

~Michael

As stated above, if it is illegal to export the fish out of South Africa, would you want a video on YouTube showing you have an illegal fish in your possession and you are a lfs? That is like a drug dealer displaying his illegal goods on YouTube. :spin2:
