A lighting issue for a 55 gallon

I had recently bought a 55 gallon and am wondering if 2 250 metal halide lighting would be too much for keeping a clam?

will i need to purchase a chiller? as of now i live in northern PA so naturally it is a little colder and the location of my tank is in a naturally cooler place.

thank you for your help

I think your plan will be ideal. Heat shouldn't be an issue if you are using a fan to blow across the surface. Chiller should not be necessary if you use AC in the summer.

I have to agree with Steve Pro on this one. Two 250s is way overkill on a 55 IMHO and I can almost guarantee you will have heat issues.

I got a 55G Look into T5's I keep my clams happy on my sand bed with no problem. As for the chiller, I just turned on my AC and my heater down a few notches. It got hot with the last week being over 95º every day! But the tank stayed a cool 79
