I kicked in this language this evening using an address for ALM which does not exisit (null)

If Time > 00:00 Then ALM OFF
If TmpG < 77.0 Then ALM ON
If TmpG > 83.0 Then ALM ON

and enabled email at tank data base config and completed the email parameters and did an email test - I got the results - I also told it to send me any ALM's.

First - My alarm is On in the status which can not be when my temp is 79

Second when I tried to trick the ALM to come on and send me an email - it didn't however it did send me this: Is this a typcial ALM email - just showing the staus of all? and if set relay to 5 - shouldn't it have sent me an email every 5 minutes - if it sent this one because of my ALM mode

Lastly - how do you get the ACIII to send me the parameters every 2 hours for the heck of it?

Osc 001/120 On/Off Then ALM ON

Turn ALM on 1 minute every 2 hours; this will trigger email every 2 hours. When the ALM is sent it always send a snapshot of the current status; you have to figure out why it sent the email.

Where did you get a TmpG; that would be the temp probe on the 7th expansion interface? It looks like you have something not quite correct; are you using AquaNotes to program the AC; if so you should update the version.

I'd suggest saving off your program and init (to factory setting) then re-upload your program (TmpG should be Temp after that).

Thank you as always -

Funny you should ask - it got chilly here last night and my heaters should have come on (no problems since my tank temp is still 77.8

I wondered why the firmware update (done Sunday) changed all my Temps - to TmpG - sort of dangerous. Someone should give a headsup to the general public

Anyway I changed them back to Temp and the alarm and heaters all work properly now - funny the ALM was always on and the heaters were always off during this.

I am using aquanotes 3.5 so it is updated along with the firmware

DO YOU still recommend going back to factory then back to the update again because there may be more wrong? - I pulled this update right off the website and the self test, etc passed, etc

I don't think you need to restore to old firmware versions; the new one is fine; it is just that post update some program statements changed (I think there is a note somewhere about this).

What I think you should do is:

* Save your program/timers (e.g., connect to AC3, copy/paste into notepad)

* Using the AC menu, initialize memory (Setup, Init Memory, Init All); this will reset the program space

* Connect and upload your program (with changes to TmpG->Temp)

After this you should be up and running with the new firmware.

thank you - it is here somewhere about certain changes - its just that tmpG threw me

I will use your process below to make sure the new firmware on my AC is running clean - I assume you are thinking that while it did install that perhaps there is some lingering code, or spaces or something such that it might not run optimally? Have you ever hacked into the programming?

I am not getting my emails since editing the ALM to
If Time > 00:00 Then ALM OFF
If Temp < 77.0 Then ALM ON
If Temp > 83.0 Then ALM ON
OSC 001/120 ON/OFF Then ALM ON

See what happens after init; verify email setup and alarm timer name configuration.

ok then - that was weird - all my applicanses went am I suppose to be on - I think so.....

it took bits and pieces of appliance addresses from I guess its default program and mixed them up with mine - a hodgepodge - same thing wioth the programming

anyway I pasted in my addresses and program, updated and everything went back to normal

except my tempature changed - I think by the offset I was using before - no biggie

But my aquanotes lost the ability to connect back to the ACIII - overall I think I guess its progress just need to figure out what aquanotes problem is

You will also need to calibrate PH (sorry, forgot to mention it gets reset also).

no problem on recalibrations - any suggestions about aquanotes not seeing the aciii?

Check the SN; can you connect using HTTP? Have you changed your configuration (in AquaNotes) since it last worked?

do you mean the serial number - i thought of that, just don't know how to find it - no I did not change aquanotes just brought it up after i reintalized and for the first time aquanotes could not see the ACIII and yes I can connect with http - that is how I uploaded the progamming

The serial number can be read using the "self test" menu; 2nd screen. You can try connecting to the AC3, using telnet (that is the same method Aquanotes uses). It could be that the password was reset.

I know my password to get connected via http, maybe you are saying I ned to go to setup in the ACIII net, and reinput my password - but I can connect with http to get to the aciii's web page - so I know it knows the correct password -

just can not find where to check the SN in aquanotes

I am lost about using telenet - may be I need to go to sleep long day - I have never given any attention to using "telenet" don't know how/what that means

one thing I noticed at the aquanotes tank database config the port window below deafult =23 is blank don't remember if that was the case before but don't know why aquanotes would have changed anything itself

thank you

Fixed for whatever it is worth - when I reintialized my ACIII - it threw in changes that I had to edit - one of them was my gateway - once I did that I now have my web remote access back. And my Aquanotes indeed needed to have port 23 input despite is saying it was the default I had had 80 in there and I think the record had spaces or something - once I input 23 it was back making a connection with the ACIII
