ok, so any way for those of you who say my tank at the crawl last month know how i have my sump set up. i have been wanting to upgrade my sump but i have a space issue with the size tank needed, so i was going to have two tanks and drill them together. so i got a 29 gallon and a 30 gallon. when to the glass shop and was going to have them drilled when the guy drilling cracked my 30 gallon tank while drilling (the glass was not tempered). so any who, i got the guy to drill the other side and cut a piece of glass the same size as the cracked side wall to silicone in front of the cracked glass. everything was a success!!! i had glass cut for the dividers for the sump, the whole bid. i had gotten sand, lights all new plumbing parts to make this really nice sump, with a refuge and all. so any way now getting to the story!!!!! (i told you this was long)
last night i drain the old sump and try to take it out, but it will not make the angle. so i have to use a saw to cut a fuzz off of my 6x6 to make it work. get all of it out and bring the new sumps in and every thing was perfect then i went to make the glue joint between the sumps, when CRACK!!!!! the tank that was not cracked to begin with cracked at the bulk head and down to the bottom of the tank!!
so then, after crying, i had to drag all of my new tanks out, wash the old sump, because i had brought it outside, and i still had to re plumb the pipes together again, i did not finish until 12:30... so the morning after, i still have no refuge, no new space for the new equipment, but everything is running normal and all is happy.
THE HAPPY ENDING:
while the old sump was out i found a way to make my new protein skimmer (the moded G4 plus) and it is running now making a lot of bubbles!!!
so i have decided to cut my losses and stick with what i have for now until i either move out, or find something better that will work.
THE END
