A new 120, need advice.

The tank is cloudy at the moment from a bacteria bloom. Just did a 25+ gallon water and filter sock change so hopefully will clear up so I can take some pictures.

The wp-40's are a great choice. My tank will be zoa dominate so I didnt need as much flow I also have one fluval cp4 in there as well. So my turnover is about 40x an hour maybe a little more.

If you want more flow than that the wp 40's would be perfect.

Do you have the 40s?

Do you have the 40s?

No I have the wp-25's but I knew that I wouldn't need as much flow. I don't plan on having a tank full of sps.

It all depends on what you want to keep. If you want a lot of sps I would go with the 40's if you want a mix the wp25's would serve you well.

Here you can see the space behind the rocks.

I try to create as much space between the rocks as possible on the sand for fish and flow I can't get much better than that without removing rock or stacking higher.

Here is a video of my ETSS SumpBuddy 40 making lots of wet skimmate to help clear up this bacteria bloom. Yes that's a plate on top of the collection cup. After the move couldn't find the top, luckily this is a perfect replacement.

Ok that's what I wanted to know. I had an MP40 but sold it when I took it down. Sure wish I kept it. I do plan on having an SPS tank and I like having a great deal of flow. I had my MP40 up to full power on Nutrient export mode then a MJ1200 with powerhead kit. Surprisingly the MJ1200 moves water quite well for a 25$ powerhead!

Ok, I've been looking at other 4' tanks and I see that most aqua scape with minimum LR in the display. I'm just not sure I can let go of all the rock in my display. I like having lots of rock for fish to hide in, more filtration surface area and all the little things that live in my rock. To me three-four pieces of LR just doesn't appease me at all. I guess I'll be the only one that like my aqua scape. Just don't mistake, I very carefully cut , placed and arranged my rock for function then aesthetics. The coral will grow all over my rock and fill it.

I certainly love hearing the feedback so please don't stop.

with the Pukani you will want to start testing phophate as soon as possible and look into GFO or other removal methods

Copy that. I do need a tester ASAP. I do have GFO I was running. Took it offline because the reactor was clogging too fast due too a bacteria bloom. I will get it back online as soon as it has ran it's course.

Are you using goosenecks on you kessils? If so, how do you like them?

I have a 120 with 2 x A360Ws but have yet to hang them.

The gooseneck is great . Easy to install and very secure, they are built well. All you have to do is remove the screws from the tabs and installed the brackets with the same screws. Then the whole thing screws onto the end of the goose neck. Zip tie the cable along the goose neck and your done. I don't think there is an easier light to install any kind. My lights are about 6" from the water and that's as high as I can get them while centered and you wouldn't want the wide models mounted any higher. You have the wides so you will be good.

Did you get the link cable?

No not yet. I have an apex too so will need the cables and the control module for the lights. Got a good deal on the apex but its a little confusing lol.

Thanks for the feedback on the goosenecks.

Here is my latest aqua scape would like some feed back. I'm not a fan of minimalist ultra elaborate styles. Mostly because it doesn't provide the benefits I am looking for. I want my reef to be as functional as possible for fish and corals. I'm trying to create lots of spaces for fish to hide/swim and for flow to reach down and around each rocks. I like that I have lots of space up top for swimming and there is more surface area on top of the rocks for coral.

Thoughts please.

Just put in my order for two Jebao wp-40's and Hanna checkers for phosphate, calcium, and alkalinity. Shipping from amazon will be here Friday!

Also ordered bulbs for my 2x 48" t5. One blue plus and one true actinic. This will suplement the Kessil well and give me my dawn dusk effect with out a controller.

What do you guy/gals think?
