hi... i wondered if they murder everything alive that doesnt eat them? I'm setting up a predator tank, and whould like a mantis (i AM getting one, but maybe not for my main reef), i plan for a C. miniata, moon wrasse, odonus niger, antana lion and some small shark(bamboo?)...

I LOVE cephalopods and crustations, so a mantis and/or cuttle or pus whould be SO cool!, i have given up on the cephalopods thoug, they seem hard to keep but i havent read enough about them yet...

You're asking for trouble. Triggers and lions will eat smaller mantis. Sharks will eat even large mantis (and you need hundreds of gallons of water per shark). Larger mantis can and will kill potentially predatory fish.

And don't even think about cephalopods with mantis.

I'd do a separate specimen tank.

Somebody is going to die in that tank. Not sure who, but someone is dead and just doesn't know it. I have seen smaller mantis kill Lions, "just in case". The Shark and Trigger are probably going to try Something, and the grouper will possibly join them.

ok... il do a spec. tank... is 100-150 liters enough?

i forgot i also have i snowflake (the odonus and lunare i also already have)...

but thanks...
