A. Ocellaris color change

I added a vibrant orange A. Ocellaris about six months ago to an existing black female. Over time he has gone from bright orange to almost black except his stomach. They paired up almost instantly. The female likes to show him who is boss every once in a while and bullies him. I know fish get dark when they are stressed, but he eats and acts normal. Is there anything I can do to get him back to his florescent orange?

Are they being hosted by an anemone? Some 'nems can darken the color of their clowns. Otherwise try different food, maybe something high in Astaxanthin.

Yes they go back and forth from my E. Quad and H. Crispa. i feed them PE mysis, NLS pellets, and Formula 1 or 2 cant remember, the one that is not for herbivores.
