A pair of clowns?

Personally, I'd say a 90 gallon. But I am biased

For the record. These guys started out in a 29 gallon bowfront by themselves from 2005 till 2007 when I transferred them to my 90.

30-40g would be my min choice for clowns AND a nem.
Most host nems do get pretty big though, so larger would be better for long term.

I keep my Black Ocellaris pair in my 34g with a lot of RBTA. I have 6 RBTA, and I plan on stopping when I get 15-20 RBTA. If you are new to the hobby, go with something like 30-40g like davocean said, but if you want to make more of an investment then I go with a 50g.
