Been waiting for quit awile on the new tank, Finally got some pictures from the builder yesterday.

It still needs the acrylic overflow box and perimeter brace to be attached but hopefully that wont take much longer.

Looks like I can finally get excited again.

So far I like.

200-ish Gallons?

Are those corners mitered on the 45degree concorners, or just butted w/ lots of silicone?

How many millions of dollars, if you don't mind sharing, is it to custom fab a tank?

Thx.

I think it's built by that place in Houston because of the PVC bottom. I would like to get a quote from them for my next tank.

Yep Chris, AGE.

Ron, Anytime man.

Using the "standard" method of measuring gallons its about 240.
It will probably hold more like 215.

Are those corners mitered on the 45degree concorners, or just butted w/ lots of silicone? .
Hopefully not the latter.

Not the best image but a shot of a corner.

I Will Not have an all out canopy on it. I just cant stand them anymore.

My wife likes them (actually she just doesnt like the lights in the room) so I may have some type of make shift canopy.
Something like maybe canopy looking "doors" mounted to the wall so that it could completely opens up when I want get in there...
This tank was built to go into a corner, so I only need to cover the front and right side.

I also have a couple wrasses that like to jump out of the water from time to time. So I'm a little scared to go completely topless.

nice looking tank Treg! Those corners look mitered to me! might be the angle but the "mitered" glass corners look like thinner glass than the front and sides. (just an observation not critiquing the build or quality. Also looks like they routed the bottom to accomodate the panels for the overflow box nice touch!
That's going to be a nice tank.

Glad you mentioned that Mark, I thought the same thing about the thinner glass.

These were not very high quality images. Which is ok... I'll take plenty of those when I get the tank in. :)

The PVC bottom and Acrylic brace were CNC machined. I guess that was part of the delay, he said getting the glass cut took longer because of the angles and then he had issues with his CNC.

When I first started talking to them it was suppose to be done by the end of March-first of April...

Here's a couple shots of the CNC work.

He counter sunk the holes for the bulkheads.
This is of the flared overflow box, the large hole on the right is the 2" drain and the left is the 1.5" return.
In front of that is the 2" intake for the closed loop and 2 of the 4 1" CL returns.

This is one of the two holes in the acrylic brace for the return line from the sump.
It will be split in the overflow box with an ocean motions 2 way.

Glad Someone liked it! :D

I had almost 2 years of thinking on this tank before I finally placed the order...

I just hope it doesnt take me 2 more years to figure out which lights to put over it. :)
The way its looking, It might...
