A pleasant surprise...

Was worried about my RBTA. My tank hasn't eactly been at its best here recently and then my RBTA started shrinking up and I thought, what now? :rolleye1:

Came down here after work today and *poof*, now I have two RBTA's. Just happy as this is my first anemone split.

Yeah, I think one of my RBTA's are acting like they're splitting as well. It's starting to become obnoxious. :lol: This will be the 4th split.


But congratulations, it's pretty cool until one starts wandering around the tank and you're saying "DON'T GO THERE!" :lol:

yeah its cool to watch. I got a gbta from goalie66 that split like four times, i eventually had to get rid of it because it split so often and stung everything. make sure all of you power heads etc have covers, it seems llike those things try to find ways to kill themselves

wow, I've seen duplicate posts before, but triplicate? This thing is funny how it does that sometimes.

Anyway, also funny that I got my RBTA from the same person! I got mine from Tom back in like Feb or March. It moved around a little on me, then settled. One stayed put, the other showed up right under my candycane coral, so had to move that.

My GBTA has been in the process of splitting for the last 2 weeks. It has two mouths but thats as far as it has gotten. What crazy magic did you use to make it happen so fast?

I think it is just taunting me.

How often are you guys feeding your RBTA? What are you feeding it? Mine has not split and I've had it about 6 months.

I feed the anemones in my species tank weekly. I feed a mixture of mysis, silversides, formula II (frozen), and brine.

Mine had looked for some time like it had a sort of "lobe" on the side of it, but it had literally looked like that for a few months. I have not been as reliable about feeding mine. When he's fed, he typically gets a cocktail shrimp.

I feed mine mysis and cyclope/oyster egg mixture. I also got it from goalie66. It split about a month ago.

Mine split more when I didn't feed it. :lol:

Now that I feed it once or twice a week it doesn't split hardly.

I feed silversides/fresh shrimp
