A Question about Torch

Hey Everyone,

I just bought a new torch coral that I would like to feed. But I was wondering does anybody know how the inside structure is setup? or in other words is each stalk or head separate and independent from each other or do they all share/supply as a whole?

Each head is an independent animal. It is a clone of the original polup.

Feeding on polyp does nothing for the others. However, torch corals will still grow like a weed even if you never feed them, so there is no need to spend a great effort making sure that every polyp gets some.

yeah, mine has grown into a monster with just filter feeding...in fact, I'm going to have to frag it very soon just so it doesn't get into a war with neighboring corals.

On average how long does it take for a torch coral to grow more new stalks/heads? In addition, is there any method(s) to speeding up this processes?

lime (I use Mrs. Wages Pickling Lime) and RO water slowly dripped into your tank.

Kalkwasser is a way of adding calcium to the tank. I and many outers use it to maintain calcium levels.
I just noticed that you have a 24gl tank. How much evaporation do you have? Kalk is administered to the tank very slowly in a drip or ATO system. This may not work for you in this small tank. You can get a 2 part calcum suplament and a test kit for calcium at your LFS.
Your coral will not grow if the calcium level is not maintained. Good luck.
