a serious question about feeding

If I feed cyclopleeze, do I also need to feed a zoo plankton or a phyto plankton? i forget which on cyclo is but I get the concept lol. also how often do I feed this and how often do I feed the fish if I am doing this. Also where can I get cyclo cheaper than 17 bucks?

Kinda depends on what you are feeding. I feed both cyclo and phyto because I use the phyto for my pods. Pods are too small to eat cyclopeeze (at least copepods are too small) and so are some of the filter feeders like soft corals and clams. Or that's what I've been told.

The cyclopeeze feeds my LPS and my smaller fish. We call Cyclopeeze clownfish crack. Cyclopeeze isn't something I 'have' to feed whereas phtyo is.

I feed my tank phyto a few times a week. I'm lazy and sometimes I forget. Cyclopeeze I usually put in every other day alternating it with arcticpods ("mandarin crack"). For the frozen stuff a little will do ya, it's extremely concentrated. I don't use the flaked Cyclopeeze so I can't help there.

Playa,
Depends on your set up, a refugium indirectly feeds your tank. Cyclopeeze certainly for your zoos, lps, and other misc inverts. I am dominantly sps, and think fish pooh, high flow, and proper skimming help them to grow. I feed Phycopure or DT's phyto 3 times per week. I also supplement with Sweetwaters zooplankton a couple times per week. Main diet is cyclopeeze and mysis. I choose to only feed one time per day, mid day light. Your refugium should provide all the indirect nutrients needed to keep your system thriving. Good luck....

rally? I htought the refugiuum would take away from the magnesium and stuff though. Put it this way, I have a thirty tank and a thirty refugium. no sump really. softies. not to many fish yest but wil be more. refugium has lots of cheato and different algaes and soon mangroves. I do 8 gallon water changes about every week. but I think it is way too often and would like to start adding trace elements. instead. what diy things like epsom salts do I need and what should I feed and how often. opinions please lol. dont forget I'm poor lol.

Are you testing the water? If so what are the parameters?
Some salts are also better then others for providing many of the trace elements needed for reef tanks. I originally was using Instant Ocean and had issues keeping my calcium, alk, PH, and Magnesium levels where I wanted them so I switched over to Tropic Marin Pro Reef and all of my parameters are much easier to manage.
