My caulerpa is turning white. Is this what is happening when they say a-sexual. What is happening and what is the cause? All I know is that its not good.

What is a good algea to put in a refugum?

If its turning white its probably dying. I would stay away from caulerpa for a fuge. Cheato would be a good choice, IMO.

If it's already white, it's too late. I'd remove all of the white portion, and see what happens. This event is actually part of the sexual reproduction cycle for the alga.

Ooops. Sorry for the missinformation there. My bad. I still think cheato would be a good choice for a fuge.

I use Chaetomorpha, too.
