Ok all you DIYers i need some help from ppl with experence. I need some glue that meets the following qualifications. 1. Reef safe. 2. can bond plastic ( = eggcrate, acrillic, ect) to glass. 3. water proof.

Also where can i find eggcrate cheep? I can get the acrillic from a friend...but where to get eggcrate and how to bond it...
ty for your answers.

Try Lowes and use something besides glue ?

What could you use hmmmmmmm.....

Let him think about this for a while, he'll figure it out.

I just Called lowes they said they had a two part epoxy that will bond plastic and glass and is water proof, non toxic. Its called LocTite or somethin like that

Yeah, I got some of that for my sump. From all that I read, silicon will not bind acrylic to glass reliably, so I bought glass for the partitions. Just wanted to give you an FYI in case you are planning on making something that you are going tocount on to bear a load.

i went ahead and bought LocTite extreme repair. on the package it even says "Saltwater safe" "can be used to build/ repair aquaria"
for $3.99 i said heck yes

Acrylic to acrylic is no problem, acrylic to glass is an uncertain proposition apparently. However, it WILL work. Phils giant sump partitions are acrylic, & the tank is glass. Though I think he did some doctoring to assure a better bond. I have read that ppl just glop on thick beads of the silicon, & let it dry around the glass... Not really adhering the glass directly to the acrylic, but the thick bead sort of stops it up... Hell, I dunno how to explain it.. I have no first hand experience, just what I have read on DIY threads.
