Got a mantis from a guy in Fl. Very pretty orange/red guy that I haven't seen enough of to ID.
The second was from a local reefer that knows I like the little monsters. I haven't even seen him to tell you what color he is!
My first mantis is comfortably ensconsed in his rock. I moved that rock from my 29gal to the upper right tank in the Tank Mahal. (see the "introducing... the tank mahal" thread in the DIY section).
The second was AWOL from the day he went into the 29. Hadn't seen him, didn't hear him. No nothin. Not a peep.
I was feeding my small Frogspawn in the main tank the other day. As I put a piece of shrimp on the end of a pair of shishkabab skewers and lowered away, what do I see grabbing the shrimp? The second mantis! All I saw was a dark blur that darted up, grabbed the shrimp, and retreated to the rock.
Grrr! #W$%#%$ the little SOB got into my 120gal main tank in the move! $%#$%$#%^
I picked up the rock he was in to get him out of the tank. I found my missing RBTA on that rock. As I was trying to coax the RBTA off the rock, I see a black-ish blur shooting towards the back of the main tank.
$%#%$%&^&%! The little SOB jumped rock! #$%$#
Good thing he was small 'cause I don't think I'm going to be able to find him again any time soon!
