Hi, all.
Just a tip of the hat to the folks at Aqua Digital for their help over the past few weeks.
And here's a story to warm your hearts.
Because of the Profilux and all of its wires and probes, etc., I finally bit the bullet and rearranged my sump and equipment room. It's almost a thing of beauty, despite the fact no-one will ever see it (I'll post pictures here when it's done, though). Two 12X industrial power strips run the length of each wall. 3 shelves and attachments under them hold all the electricals and they’re all labeled and tied in logical groups. So much easier and so much more room!
The Profilux reorganizing also forced me to better define and separate systems in a more logical way. It’ll now be much faster to maintain…and easier to navigate in case of emergency.
And just as I’d finished the bulk of the organizing, I had one. An emergency. I was easing my sump into a new position (the last thing to be organized--and it was a stupid and lazy move on my part at the end of a long day), and all of a sudden, CRACK. The sump tank cracked into dozens of pieces. Everything was running at the time.
I’m so pleased with the ability to respond to this: all of the relevant plugs were in one section of strip â€"œ I unplugged them. The sump drained onto the floor and into the drain. A few towels were needed, of course, but just a few. The main tank was unaffected, and all of its lighting and currents, controlled by the Profilux, continue to purr away. It'll be fine for a day or two as I rebuild my sump system.
So tomorrow I’ll buy a new sump and organize it properly and then, voila. I'll post pics, for sure.
Anyway, thanks for your generous help, Aqua Digial and GHL, and in my case, my system is much more robust--and can take a beating or two to boot!
Erik
