A Whole New Dimension

Decided to get the Look Down box out and snap a few pictures this morning.

I can't believe it's been so long, since I updated. Here's a few "top down" shots, I took yesterday, of some new and some old.

Took some pics today.

Anyway, today, I spent some time scraping coralline algae. Yep, I really did. Since I knew no one would believe me, I decided to snap a few pictures.

All pics taken with a Canon 7D. I used my 18-200mm for some and my 100mm Macro for others. The only pic to be edited, in any way, is the FTS, which was cropped, to eliminate the kitchen...lol.

RBTA on the move!!

For almost a year, our RBTA has rarely made it's self visible enough to photograph. It is anchored, under a large piece of live rock, and usually stretches out, behind that rock, out of view.

Today, it decided to stretch out, a different direction, resulting in the need to move a couple corals...lol. BUT, it did allow me to get a few pictures of it, which I haven't been able to do in a long time!!

LOL Nothing's really in focus, in this next one, but I liked it, so you're stuck looking at it.

Today, while doing a water change, I decided to take some pictures, from a different point of view. With all the pumps turned off and about 30 gallons of water missing. I got down low and shot at the surface reflection, from below.

Because, with some pics, I had the camera angled up, pretty severely, some of the pics aren't totally focused.

Has it really been that long since I've updated this thread??

Sheeesh.

Some of the corals we picked up, at the PSAS Frag Swap, a few days ago!

Please excuse some of the bad photos. I really need to polish my look down box.

ORA Micronesian Mauve. We actually got this one from Barrier Reef, after the frag swap.

Since I had to spend a few hours scraping coralline algae today, which I HATE doing, and only do about once every 4 months...lol...I figured I'd snap a few photos.

These are the first full tank shots I've taken, since early November...lol. That was the last time I scraped.

Here's a few random pictures, through clean glass...lol. The water's a little dirty, from massive coralline dust floating everywhere.

Grrr. Mushrooms that migrated from the 75. I thought I'd eradicated ALL of them, when I moved everything over to the 200. A few months later, I saw one pop up on this rock. Now....

FINALLY!! PROOF OF EXISTENCE!!

About 11 months ago, we purchased a Swales Swissguard Basslet. Since then, it's been VERY SECRETIVE. We've actually gone weeks, wondering if it's even alive, only to see a flash of it, every now and then. Well, it just gave me a few seconds to take some bad photos. I apologize for the low image quality, but it was either take the pic it gave me, or wait, who knows how long...lol.

One last one, before it exits, stage left. Sorry about the reflections.

Reintroducing Abby!! (Madison names "her" a few years back!)

We've had this turbo snail, since we began this hobby. It's made the transition from our original tank, a 29, to our 46, then the 75, and finally, into our 200. It's hard to believe that something this large would be able to hide, but it does. We'll go many months, without even seeing it, to catch a glimpse of the shell, deep in the rocks. Every few months, Abby makes the journey out onto the glass, showing us that "she's" not only still alive, but has grown even more...lol. She's 3"+ across!

A face only a mother, or Madison, could love!

Bon Voyage, dear friend.....

Bon Voyage, dear friend.....

It's kind of a sad day, but not really....lol.

The other day, this magnificent bubble coral was relocated, to a fellow local hobbyist. After being with us, for at least 2 years, we'll miss it, but it was just taking up too much room, for some changes I plan to make in the future. It was time...

So these will be the last "current" photos of this beauty, from my tank. However, I know where it went, and will visit it, when I can. So, other photos may come, in the future, in someone else's tank!

This Bubble Coral is nearly 12" in diameter, in these photos, sometimes expanding even larger.

Thank you! As for the tank cost, I got a very good deal, from a great LFS, in my area.

looks great mike can't wait to see it again

Will, great to see you here! Don't forget, you helped make this tank possible, by helping me get the tank home!!

Come visit, whenever you'd like. Seems you were wanting to borrow my large stock tank anyway. It's available and would give you a good excuse to stop by!
