acjr read 111 degrees...it freaked me out big time. the fans were blasting; lights were off; man i got scared. i scrambled for the ice machine but before i put it in i put my hand in and man the water didn't feel like 111 degree water. it actually felt rather colder than usual. I ran to get my spare cheapo thermometer and plopped it in the tank. 70 degrees was what it was reading. my ac jr wasn't reading out the correct temps and had turned on all my fans and turned off all my lights. further investigation proved right and it looks like a possible faulty temp probe.

does anyone have a spare i can borrow? this would be for the ac jr new version. i've contacted neptune and hopefully i can get a replacement out soon. as of current i took the heater and fans off of the controller and set teh heater to 78ish and i'll control the fans manually as much as possible. sorry for the rant i just thought i'd scare everyone like how i was scared. ;)
Happy NEW Years and no this isn't a hoax and if you do have a temp probe spare i would like to borrow it.

How about coming home to your tanks to find out that they are like 50 degrees.
i might be out of this hobby this sucks.
:(
We left for a two day vacation.
power outage F***I don't know where to begin again.
I think some of my corals might actually make it.

there is hope.

Sorry i just had to rant

man that sux buttons. i hope things will make it out for you. Big thanks to bored4long for hooking me up with a spare temp probe for now. i just hooked it up and will find out of his temp probe does the same as mine. thanks a bunch

Its contagious !!! Mine Jr probe read 121 on the same day as you did Max. My fans were on the whole night bringing my temp down to 73. I had to deleted all the temp prog and left the heater on for a few hours to bring the temp back to 76. My probe is over 2 yrs old so its probably coming up to the end of its lifespan, i guess.

Was about ready to order a new temp probe but went to check the Jr and the temp is reading fine again. Weird!!!! Going clean the probe this weekend and keep an eye on it. Not to worry as my tank is 76-78 without needing to run the heater.

I feel for you button buster, I went on my first real vacation in 5 years and had power related failure. Never had that happen when I'm around. Only lost a few coral but still it seems I can't take another vacation without worrying. :(
