Okay I recently purchased a colony of Blue steel from the LFS and all of them opened fine for the first couple of days and then I took a saw and cut the stone into about 6 sections..now only a couple will open up any suggestions would help ???

Sure - give them some time. They have already been shipped from somewhere to your LFS, to your house, have just been fragged and they are stressing. Heck - that is quite an endevor for them to be subjected to in such a short window of time. Most likely they will be fine, just recovering from the stresses. Personally, I would not dip them or treat them with anything. Just keep them in decent flow and med lighting and wait about two weeks. Just my humble $0.02 worth.

If you have other tanks it might be a good idea to put one of the frags in another tank because like others have said they can be finicky and known to just melt away quick.

So first off, I agree with all the others - give it some time. Second, I have a question. Why take a zoa, especially one that is known to be a melter under the best circumstances, bring it home, not give it a chance to properly acclimate to your tank and then subject it to even further stress by cutting it into pieces? I'm not trying to be mean or nasty here, I just am really curious as to why someone would do this?
