do i have to buy a pair, or could i buy one, then buy another next weekend?
I know I should buy a pair together but I was just wondering on your thought of just buy one?

any other warning or suggestions appreciated.

thanks

You could buy one today and then buy one next week!Just be cautious about the size of the fish!IMO,get a smaller one today and then buy a bigger one next weekend!

Some clowns are easier than others to pair, so it depends.
It is alot easier to get a pair.
But if you get one, I'd get bigger now, and smaller later, cause bigger will most likely be female, and stay female, while a smaller one could start change before you get 2nd clown.

okay so I bought a pair of true Perc (i believe) there sweeeeet!

Just put them in my tank, both look healthy and are swimming around like crazy.

i need to post pics, but does anyone know what it means when one of their strips stops like half way in the middle?

thanks

im getting an nem hopefully in 2-3 weeks

Incomplete stripes on clownfish are called misbars. IIRC, they're more common in captive-bred fish. A lot of people like them (myself included) because they make the fish look unique.

As for getting an anemone, how long has your tank been set up? I see from your profile that you're new at keeping saltwater aquariums. Anemones require well-established tanks (most experienced keepers say at least six to nine months old) and very stable water parameters, among other things. Since you're just starting out, I really wouldn't advise getting an anemone yet. Take it from someone who learned the hard way, anemones can be a real PITA, no matter how alluring the idea of having one for your clownfish might be. Take your time and learn all you can first, and your chances of success will be much greater. Patience is essential to this hobby. :)

yeah I have read that nem are best suitable for tank 6 months+ so ill will have to wait, but having the clowns in there makes it alot better!

BTW what is the best food for them, i bought mysis shrimp and tried to feed them that this morning didnt go so well, maybe they need to get used to the way i feed/ or shrimp

Also agree w/ spectrum pellets and flakes, mine like them even more than mysis.
Brine shrimp is low on nutritional value, if you use that maybe add garlic or vitamins.
