Hey all , new to the forum so I appologize if this is in the wrong spot. I just recently bought 2 36" Solar Flare DX double strip Led lights BUT while fishing the cord and adapter box in behind the tank one plopped right into the refugium rendering it now usless with 0 hours of use. Does anybody know if another adapter will work and where I could possibly find one. Laptop ones are very simalar but whats needed is a 24V 3.5A. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

read the rating on the bad powersupply and simply buy a new one that meets or exceeds that spec
laptop supplies are typically 19VDC and thats not sufficient if you need 24V

But where can you buy those things, typically i thought they came with whatever item you purchased, Im no electrician and no idea where to look.

If it just "plopped" in and you fished it out it should not be useless. I'd let it dryout for a week or so. and then have it tested.

It definatly didnt just plop in, it was in there long enough to get completely saturated while plugged in so I know its fried. I have a local computer repair shop trying to track some down, I have no trouble finding adapters just cant find any that are 24V 3.5A type. Hopefuly Im able to find them or I have 2 brand new $850.00 boat anchors and that sucks too cause I dont own a boat.

Ok, so here's an update on what I thought was problem solved. I got two new adapters shipped to me, they are 24 volts @ 4 amps, plugged them in and the blues light up but put the switch to light up both blues and whites and the light just flicks on and off on and off. I don't get this, WHAT NOW, I know very little about LED lighting so if anybody has any idea I would love to know.
