AC III VS Reef Keep 2 controllers ?

Hello Guys,

I'm in the market for a controller for my tank, but i'm not sure which route to go...can some of you post any experience you have with either AC III or ReefKeeper 2 ?

I have no experince with any of them-but just yesterday got my hands on an aquatronica package. Reasons for this one over the others- over the years aquatronica has remained constant w/o many software changes.
Anyways maybe the democrat will add something to this thread as we are probably programing them tomorow at his place.
Theres a big thread over in the equip forum.

I like the RK2, I don't really care about software updates much. As long as it does what its programed to do I am happy with it.

Yeah RK2 here as well. Almost been using it for a year and a half with no problems what so ever. I love it!

ACIII here and i have it connected to my router and i can moniter the conditions from anywhere on www. i sit here at work and stare at my tank conditions. lol I love my ACIII

Yargh, now I'm trying to decide between the two. I love the seasonal features and moonlight changing (even though I don't have moonlights yet) that the ACjr has, and I really really want the web interface that only the ACIII has, however I just can't afford the ACIII, and between the ACjr and the RK2, I think the RK2 looks simpler and works just as well, as well as has a huge fan base and lots of community support. Ahhh! too many decisions!

Has anyone changed their opinions since this post last came up?

Eric I just got my Aquatronica installed and its agreat piece of equipment-(NOT ON WINDOWS VISTA PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Other than my computer woes and some initail conectivity issues I really like this controller, the options are just endless.
Still pending some issues with my connectivity but otherwise great
Thanks to Ray-rawbomb-and his previous experince with the controller I've avoided some of the initial newbie mistakes.
There's certainly a learning curve with this controllers IMHO

BTW I have a couple f strings of moonlights that u can have.
cut me apiece of that purdy sps u have LOL

Lol which purdy SPS? I may stop by if you're around tonight. I'll drop you a PM with what's going on tonight since I'm stopping right by you on the way home.

Thanks manny! I wouldn't mind checking out your controller too.

I have an RK2, the only problem i had was with incompatability with my ballasts which was finally resolved by buying an extension option that placed the offending equipment on separate circuits from the RK2.

The only thing i want from it that it does not do is allow for pumps to turn off / on based on temperature. I have a closed loop with chiller and main pump. it would be nice in a high temperature mishap to be able to react to it better.

Bleh. I kinda gave up on the controller. Too much $$$ to get what I wanted. And anyway after talking with some reefers, I realised that the money would be much better spent on a calcium reactor and/or more flow first. So now I'm looking for a deltec reactor and some tunzes :p it never stops.
