AC Jr. Help!

Since nobody can get to our site to read this...

I bought an AC Jr. from Marine Depot, which I received yesterday. I spent the better part of the afternoon configuring and mounting the system to my tank, however, I'm not getting any output power from the DC-8. The dip switches are all set to off, indicating that it should be addressable by A01 - A08. All of the timers are set to use A01 - A08. I can hear the relay in the DC-8 click when I manually set outlets 4 and 8 to ON state, but there is no output voltage on any outlets. The breaker isn't tripped and I'm running out of ideas?!

Help?!

Check the fuse. It be loose or worse, they may have sent you one that was unusable.

If I lived closer, I'd let you borrow my DC8 to see if it is your DC8

Also try the neptunes forum if the above is a no go. Curt is very helpful, although I doubt he'll be posting on an off day, but there are many others that will assist.

Good luck Kevin

Silly question - did you plug in the phone line to the head unit and the dc8?

Yes, the cable is plugged in and the DC8 seems to be responding to commands from the head unit, just not providing output power. I wonder if the breaker is bad.

Might try plugging it in different outlets if you can.

I've tried that as well. On a whim, I hit the DC8 with the heel of my palm and it worked for about 5 minutes then went dark again. At this point, everything is boxed up and ready to go back to Marine Depot.

Whenever you are able to Fonzie something into working, by default it is defective!

Very true, especially when it comes to our tanks! I just hate having to pay shipping to send the stuff back, then wait for a new one. I'm trying to convince myself that the DC8 must have been damaged after leaving Neptune Systems and not a lack of quality control.
