AC used to change to 'run' automatically, no longer

Earlier versions of the AC software used to return to the 'run' screen if the system was left idle. I find that the current version no longer does this (though I am not sure when it stopped doing it). If I remember correctly I could leave the menu nearly anywhere and it would return to 'run' screen, I don't think I have seen this happen in any screen.

Should this work?

Which version of the controller? I have has an ACII running for five years and have never noted auto return to RUN.

I seem to recall my ACII returning to 'run' also but currently I have an AC3 with the latest firmware. In the manual it says:

"If no unput occurs (button selection) the LCD screen will automatically return to this (RUN) display."

Unless I am going wacko (which is possible) it used to work from most menus, now you did need to leave the AC3 for some time but I've left units over night sitting at the root menu and it didn't change and I am fairly certain that used to work.

BTW, sidlining this a bit, is there a wireless bridge you woul drecommend for my new ACIII? My network uses fixed addresses and is an 811b with a linksys wireless router/cable modem.
Right now I have an ACII via serial to an old lap top connected to a USB wireless. The lap top is running the Aquanotes.
Shall I just use the same setting?
The nice thing is that I can use the lap top as a server and processing some macros to upload an updated staus page every 15 minutes.

I use the Linksys Wireless Game adapter. There are many other bridges but this is the one I used and I am very happy with it.

You can still have AquaNotes connect to the AC3, it supports ethernet connections so everything you have now should continue to work, just over ethernet rather than serial port.

Forget that Linksys gaming adapter - terrible imo. I returned that and got the Buffalo, which is not only cheaper, but worked right out of the box and hasn't dropped once. The linksys gaming adpater was nothing but a headache. I believe the Buffalo (WLI-TX4-G54HP ???) is $30 cheaper, and way more solid, at least for me. The linksys would need to be reset if I powered it off, or the settings wouldn't save or communicate (and I use a WRT54G router...?).

On thread topic - It would be nice if the Ac3 returned to 'run'. I always have to do it manually because I'm, dinking around with manual control and forget or neglect to go back to 'run'.

With the exception of the timer names, and timer program all other menus do time out, and the controller will return to the run display.

I have verified that leaving the display at 'Manual Control' does not appear to return to the 'Run' display. It has been near 24 hours and the 'Manual Control' menu is still displayed.
