The lfs told me this was a micro but I think it is an acan based on look and price. This is my 1st "whatever it turns out to be" and love it!

Anyone have a positive ID for this? sorry for the bad pics, thats as close up as my camera can get.

It looks to be Acanthastrea echinata. And a nice colored one at that. They don't need a ton of lighting to keep their orange color, and they can be very aggressive, so give it plenty of room.

Cool, thanks! A couple of local reefers also felt it was echinata and that was my first opinion.

It looks much nicer in person, my crappy camera and 10k lights dont do it justice!

Right now it has almost the whole tank to itself, lol, but can i put other acans near it or no??

Only if your confident the other Acans are echinata. These corals will fight with other species of Acanthastrea.

Thank you! I'm loving it so far!

Any feedings tips??? I have a homemade mix of shrimp, scallops, mussels, clams and squidd for my suncoral. Should i try feeding the acan it as well?
